7.5" tall handpainted composition figurine depicts Leroy Neiman's famous Femlin character in a kneeling position. 1961. Sold in the back of "Playboy" magazines of the era for $7.50, this sensuous and provocatively posed figurine is part of a series of 4 produced - kneeling, reclining on back, reclining on stomach (see following item #1198) and standing with arms stretched overhead. The Femlin character made her debut in 1955 in Playboy's Party Jokes section and continues to grace its page to this day. Depicted in the Femlin's classic bw color scheme, her long gloves and thigh-high stockings are separately attached (as produced) pieces. Light aging and scattered crazelines to white areas. Crack on finger has been professionally repaired as have both feet, which were broken off and now have near-invisible repair at ankles. Displays VF. Femlins have been featured on a variety of merchandise since their debut, but these figurines are by far the most charming. The only example we have offered in our 41 years.
