7/8" c. 1896 and with a rarely-seen backpaper design for the "Boston Office" of the W&H company. This is quite possibly the company's first self-promotional button. Pictured are 3 young black boys as if sprawling curbside with caption below "Here Comes De Parade/Jus Look At Dem Badges." Text at top reads "The Whitehead & Co./Badges & Lapel Buttons/Newark, N.J." Hake book Collectible Pin-Back Buttons photo example Advertising Manufacturers Section #2. Comes with Hake's COA. Superb condition, N. Mint displaying Mint. The first without damage in probably 10 years.
