Auction #196 - Part I
Item numbers 1 though 975 in auction 196
Item Description
Each is 1.25". None have sponsor's text and these were generally used by button company salesmen to show prospective customers. As such, they are scarcer than those that do have imprints. First of Santa against starry sky is very early and complete with its Pulver backpaper that includes 1904 patent date. Second of Santa with holly wreath on his head is from W&H c. 1915. Third of Santa flanked by holly with red berries is also by W&H but 1930 era. Lower right has 1/32" surface crack that just catches reflected light. Last is Santa in wreath, also 1930s but without backpaper. Other than tiny noted exception, condition is Exc. to Mint and the group still displays Mint.
