3" dia. Heavy cast metal w/profile image of Byrd in aviator helmet w/text "Commemorating The Conquest Of The Poles By Rear Admiral Richard E. Byrd And His Associates/Presented By The Aeronautical Chamber Of Commerce Of America/May 9, 1926/November 29, 1929." Reverse has high relief image of tri-motor plane w/skis as landing gear and large eagle (bird) perched on cockpit. Very well made. Nicely aged patina over brass or bronze. Exc.
