Item Description
This 1930s Chad Valley game is of same basic design as previous item #1885 but larger version adding Horace along with the other 4 characters. This box is 9.5x20.5x2.25" deep. While the small box has the name "Mickey Mouse Tiddleywinks" as part of the artwork on the box label, this larger version was without any text as made. However, photocopies of this text were done and applied to the bottom center of the lid in order for the two to match. This could be removed if desired but looks as if produced as is. Box lid has wear along edges with splits that have been neatly repaired and have color touch-ups. Box as is, still about VG. Label shows scattered aging but remains Fine. The figures for this game are also thin die-cut wood with paper labels on fronts, however, each is a totally different depiction and rather than behind a brick wall they are attached to cardboard box unit with wood cups attached directly to each figure. This version comes with discs in two sizes as well as a pair of wood/metal spring shooters and celluloid balls. An assortment is included, but not the full amount as issued. The metal rivets that hold the figures in place to the box have rusted, however, this in no way affects the figures themselves which aside from some very light aging are Exc. The box unit itself has some scattered edge wear and is Fine. Great design. Scarce. From the Carl Lobel Collection.
