Item Description
The display is a 6x10" piece of wood .25" thick with wire easel stand on reverse for countertop display while front has 3 cast metal attachments. Top attachment reads "Ingersoll Mickey Mouse." At lower right is 3" tall die-cut figural Mickey attachment above "$2.95" price attachment. Also attached to front is felt-covered board with metal tabs to hold the watches in place and designed to accommodate both leather and metal link band watches. This display which is the only example we've offered in our 41 years is pictured on page 19 of "Comic Character Time Pieces/Seven Decades Of Memories" by Hy Brown published by Schiffer. Display shows only the slightest trace of aging, Exc. Both watches are identical models and metal link band varieties. A number of slight dial differences exist between the 1933 and 1935 models. Both of these are from the Fall-Winter of 1935, the first to have "Made In U.S.A." text appear on the dial. One watch has 2 links and clasp while the other has 5 links with clasp, both have the pair of attachments with Mickey images although nearly all of the black accent paint is missing as is typical. Each dial has animated hands as well as second hand disc featuring 3 small Mickey images. Both are running and show just slightest aging. Dials remain clean and both have near full silver luster to cases and bands. Both VF/Exc. A truly outstanding display piece which could easily become the focal point of your Mickey Mouse watch collection. From the Michael J. Stern Collection.
