Auction #196 - Part I
Item numbers 1 though 975 in auction 196
Item Description
2-1/8" in superb color with wonderful design dated for Sept. 1-5 celebration in Long Beach, Calif. Primary text letters are formed by sea snakes with circular heads and facial accents. The scallop shell design encompasses a lovely mermaid in the harbor waters with sailboats in the bkg. This is a beautiful example with just two thin hairline scratches near the bottom of the button barely even catching reflected light. Backpaper by Bastian has 1" dia. lt. tan mark. High gloss and with essentially perfect centering. Our last example with much more significant damage reached $500. Overall this is an Exc. example displaying Mint and it is one of the most stunning buttons ever issued.
