This and the next lot of two from the series comprise a set of 5 different 1.25" buttons issued in 1939. Each button has a serial number at the top likely used in conjunction with a contest probably with prizes to be awarded based on selected numbers. No backpaper as issued but with maker's name on curl "Economy Novelty Co. N.Y.C." This button has exceptionally low serial number "570." Slightest surface wear under magnification but piece displays totally clean and essentially Mint. We've seen just about 5 of these over 42 years. Rare. See next lot.
