Item Description
27x41" one-sheet movie poster for the 1966 release of a special film feature which combined the 1943 "Batman" serial and the 1949 "Batman and Robin" serials. This feature was released to capitalize on the enormous popularity of Batman in 1966. Poster features bw/blue art images recreated from the cover of "Batman" #9 comic book. Poster is for "Part 1 - Chapters 1 to 8." Text at top of poster reads "The Saturday-Sunday Matinee Show Of The Year!" Poster also bears NPP Inc. copyright as well as 1966 Columbia Pictures Corp. copyright. Scattered wear/aging with 1" and 2" tears along top fold line. Fine+. Comes with 11x14" pressbook for feature which utilizes same "Batman" #9 comic book cover art as well as more contemporary Batman and Robin images. Pressbook contains ad mat for film showing various advertising possibilities as well as promotional Batman tie-in items including Remco flying Batplane and walkie talkies, Colorforms Batman kit, Batman and Robin record, Batman pencil case and 3 ring binders. These items were designed to be used as co-op advertising with local retailers. Two bw photo images taken from serials show Lewis Wilson as Batman with J. Carrol Naish as the villain. Douglas Croft, who played Robin, is not pictured. Folded at center as issued. Moderate aging/wear at this fold line. .5-1" tears at sides. Fine. From the Craig Warren Collection.
