Initial production run featured a thicker cape, this is one of those early varieties, the difference being very evident as all others we are offering in this auction have second, thinner variety. Beck-designed box features illustration of Captain Marvel holding Mary Marvel statuette in hand while back shows illustrations of other statuettes. Other side panels include additional text plus images of lightning bolts coming from dark clouds. Box contains original packing material. "Capt. Marvel Jr." name stamped on end panel. Box is free of clips or cuts but has tiny 3/8" puncture by image of Mary Marvel statuette. Exc. display.
