Item Description
Lot of 41 approximately 10.25x13.5" pages (3 of which are 2-page spreads). Taken from "Puck" magazine c. 1884-1885. Each page features detailed illustration by noted cartoonist Opper who later went on to create Happy Hooligan, Alphonse and Gaston among others. Given Puck's nature, cartoons were politically charged and dealt with topics of the day including several caricatures of noted political figures including Chester Arthur, William T. Sherman, Ulylsses S. Grant, Queen Victoria, Grover Cleveland among others. As pages have been removed from within magazine, edges are in some cases rough. Pages lightly aged overall. Clean and Fine-VF.
