Item Description
4.75x7.25" leather bound hardcover with 251 pages. Published in London by W. Bolmer & Co. for J. Bell in 1808. This is second edition (book was originally published in 1801). Original spine with title and designs in gold. Owner's bookplate on inside cover. Book is printed with 3 tipped-in, fold-out color illustrated pages featuring such gruesome scenes as a graveyard with cavorting skeletons and ghouls, a scene showing a wolf pulling the entrails from the mouth of a victim and woman leaving her husband with a skeleton. Pages are remarkably well preserved for a 200+ year old book. Cover shows wear with spine split, spine is slightly loose but still attached. Cover is VG, pages are Exc.
