27x40" color poster by G&F Posters ©NPP, Inc. 1966. Poster features unusual pose of Batman appearing to be struck with word balloon "Nonsense! There Are No Such Things As -- Uhh!" Art by Carmine Infantino was featured on the cover of “Detective Comics” #331. Poster shows lt. wear/aging plus 1" tear at bottom margin. Exc. Comes with 14.5x23" newspaper page from "The New York Times" Mar. 6, 1966 edition. Advertisement reads "Marboro Has The Monumental Long-Awaited High Camp Pop-Art Batman Poster" showing bw imprint of the poster being offered in this lot. Poster was sold for $1.00 each and ad shows similar posters released for Prince Valiant, Mandrake, Phantom and Flash Gordon. Posters could be bought over the counter at Marboro Bookshops or with coupon and said $1.00. Folded as issued with moderate aging. Fine. Nice pairing. From the Craig Warren Collection.
