Item Description
The flag, whose design is visible from both sides, is 26.5” wide by 17” tall mounted by three tiny nails to a rod now 21.5” long but snapped off at the bottom. The fabric is loosely woven and seems to be cotton. Where the blue field and red stripes were silk-screened, the fabric is slightly stiffer than the areas without paint. On the front side, just below the blue field is a hand-stitched 3.25x17.75” tan paper strip with the black hand-lettered inscription “Harrison And Morton.” In the area above the paper strip are 3 small holes each about .5” dia. plus two narrow tears each about 1” long. On the paper strip itself at its bottom edge are two holes about .5” dia. below the word “Morton.” The right-hand half of the flag which is where all the minor damage has occurred shows a little scattered faint gray soiling and the white stripes show small areas of light tan moisture stain. Overall condition would be VG to Fine. Flags are among the most popular campaign collectibles and this graphic and unique example would be an excellent addition to any collection.
