Item Description
14" tall (15.5" to top of hair tuft). Compostion head, shoulders and arms; cloth body doll of George McManus' character Baby Snookums. c. 1928 Madame Hendren Doll. Madame Hendren tag at back of sweater's neck. Nicely detailed painted composition face with open mouth and painted teeth. Snookums' distinctive tuft of hair stands straight up, rest of head is bare though shaded to resemble hair. Doll "cries" when turned upside down. Original dress, sweater and shoes. Scattered paint wear with some flakes to composition head and fingertips of left hand. Scattered staining to front of dress with a few fabric pulls. Cloth-stuffed leg has stain but for the most part is covered by stockings. Fine.
