Item Description
Lot consists of 24 plastic pencil sharpeners in the shape of the Mercury VII space capsule. Each is 1.25x2" tall. 1960s. Capsule comes apart for emptying shavings. Eight each of silver, gold, blue plastic. Comes in original 6.75x10" wide by 9.25" tall display. Display top folds over as made. Text on display reads "SP Sterling Space Capsule Pencil Sharpener/Mercury VII-America's First Manned Space Capsule/With Built-In Shavings Receptacle/No Mess! Super Sharp! Two Dozen No. 506." Display area that holds sharpeners is concave resulting in bottom of display sides to be slightly bowed. Display is o/w bright, clean and VF. Sharpeners are unused and Exc.
