Item Description
17.5x24.5" four-page thin paper folder promotes Jimmy Murphy's strip and features image of a large Baby Buttercup holding Toots and Casper in each hand. Buttercup wears newspaper hat made out of "Toots and Casper" comic strips. Other supporting characters surround Buttercup, one sitting on toy blocks with letters "KFS" indicating King Features Syndicate. c. 1927. Inside has full color reprints of Murphy strips "Toots and Casper" and "It's Papa Who Pays!" Brief text at top of each page touts creator Murphy's experience in comics. Back page features bw reprints and gives brief plot line. Likely used to promote newspaper distribution. Folded horizontally and vertically. .5" tear at center crease. Scattered handling wear. VG. Rare and first we've seen in our 42 years.
