Item Description
First is 12/18/68 un-addressed mailer titled "Wanted By FBI/Leroy Eldridge Cleaver." The "caution" for this Black Panther leader reads "Cleaver Allegedly Has Engaged Police Officers In Gun Battle In The Past. Consider Armed And Extremely Dangerous." Fold line as issued. Open size is 8x8". N. Mint. Second and third are 8.5x13". Cardboard. David Sylvan Fine/Karleton Lewis Armstrong were two of four alleged bombers/conspirators of a University of Wisconsin building bombing that killed a researcher and injured several others in 1970. All 4 were members of the radical SDS. Armstrong was captured in Toronto in 1972. Exc. Last is 11x18" poster c. late 1970s for NYC speech by Bernadette Devlin titled "The Irish Fight For Freedom And Socialism." She helped found the Irish Republican Socialist Party in 1974 and was known for her radical left-wing politics. She sat in parliament as an independent Socialist. In 1981 she and her husband were shot by Ulster Freedom Fighters. Although she made many earlier trips to the US, in 2003 the state department barred and deported her as a security threat although she has no terrorist connections. Thin layer of surface paper from tape removal gone across top and bottom margins to depth of 1". Displays clean and would frame to N. Mint. Rare item.
