Printed in 1969 by the World Publishing Co., book originally sold for $9.95 (expensive for the day) and included reprints from MAD Magazine and annuals as well as reprints of front and back covers as well as bonuses including "Meet The Staff Of MAD" record, instructions for assembling MAD Mobile (mobile was omitted from printing), stickers, stencils and other bonus items. Only 25,000 copies were printed and when the print run sold out, World did not chose to reprint due to the cost of the book. As can be expected, it is difficult now to obtain a complete version of this book given its many removable features. MAD publisher Bill Gaines set aside fresh copies of all his publications, this book included. The copy we are offering remains sealed in its original cellophane wrapper and is N. Mint. We believe Gaines put away only 3 or 4 sealed copies and have only seen 2 others for sale. Those copies sold for $1,840 in 2004 and $1,265 in 2005. .75" and two 2" splits to cellophane but book remains sealed. A true rarity in the MAD collectibles arena, rarely found this nice.
