Item Description
8x10-1/8", 62-page cloth-bound hardcover published by Frederick A. Stokes Co. ©1905 by Buster Brown and Yellow Kid creator R.F. Outcault. Title page notes 63 illustrations by him. Cover has nice embossed image of a smiling Tige with partial resolution on wall with smear of paint, hand prints and foot prints leading away and a pair of Buster's shoes on floor. Great illustrations including many specialty full page images. Story deals with Tige's history and eventual meeting with Buster Brown. Great scene shows Buster Brown riding pig amidst herd of running pigs as a worried-looking Tige pursues them. Another classic scene shows Tige squaring off against bull. A few multi-panel strips. Scattered aging/dust soiling and handling wear to cover. VG/Fine. Pages show lt. aging and handling wear. Fine overall. Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide values - Good=$143; Fine=$500.
