Item Description
3.75x4.5" envelope contains 6.5x8.5" certificate issued by Ovaltine c. 1943. Envelope has scattered and expected wear from postal issue, one end sliced open. Fine. Certificate includes illustration at top center of 24 karat gold-plated "Pilot's Badge." Also includes simulated Secret Squadron seal and Midnight facsimile signature. Folded as issued with pinholes at top corners. Lightly aged but unused and Fine/VF. Comes with 5.25x6-3/8" 3-page folder/letter addressed "Please Give This To Your Mother" and was from Ovaltine manufacturer The Wander Co. Letter mentions receipt of "Captain Midnight Honorary Pilot's Badge" and mentions Captain Midnight program and benefits of Ovaltine. Folded as issued. Fine. Merit certificate is rare, especially with envelope and letter.
