Item Description
2.75x3x8.5" tall original box with "B.O. Plenty" name as well as that of Louis Marx & Co. Inc. Box shows moderate wear with 3" puncture/split on one side panel, 2 other side panels having heavy creasing. Missing one flap. Good/VG. Box contains 8.5" tall tin litho toy with built-in key depicting B.O. Plenty holding Sparkle Plenty in one hand and a present marked "For Baby Sparkle" in the other. His name appears on the back of his vest. Has separate tin hat attached to head. Toy works and when wound, figure rocks back and forth as hat tips up and down. c. late 1930s. Back of pants has text "By Permission Of Famous Artists Syndicate Copyright Chicago Tribune." Marx logo appears below name on back. Scattered lt. wear with a few tiny traces of bare metal showing on tip of nose, o/w toy remains totally bright, clean and glossy. VF/Exc.
