Item Description
10.5x12x3" deep box contains "Official Howdy Doody Pl'a-time" Clarabell costume. c. 1950s. Collegeville Products. This same style box was used for all Howdy Doody character costumes. As a bonus, lid features Howdy Doody cut-out mask. Box has scattered aging/lt. wear with scattered insect damage to surface, affecting 1x1.75" area of Howdy Doody mask ear. Box remains structurally sound and VG/Fine. Box side notes "Size Large (12-14)." Comes with colorful starched linen mask (moderate creasing), pair of elastic wrist bands and "Clarabell" clown suit with name across chest along with separate striped headpiece. Scattered aging. VF. Nice high quality/design. Clarabell costume is scarcer than Howdy Doody.
