Item Description
8x8.75x7.75" tall corrugated box. c. 1938. Box has art image on front and back of enclosed radio. Box comes with original inserts and remaining "Majestic Radio" paper tape. Box aged, but still remains tight. Box Fine. Bakelite radio is 5-3/8x7x6" tall with nice art deco design and louvered speaker at left side. 4.5" tall hand-painted cast metal figure of smiling Charlie is seated on front ledge wearing tuxedo. Charlie figure has few paint flakes at hat/brim/knee/toe. Charlie's cane, gloves, flower remain bright and Exc. Electric cord is a bit worn. Unable to get a response when plugged in. Original cloth-covered antenna. All original. Radio VF to Exc. Also includes "Charlie McCarthy" registry postcard, second postcard to send for autographed photo of Edgar Berger and Charlie addressed to Charlie McCarthy in Los Angeles, CA and warranty folder. Each is tanned, o/w VF. Very rare in this color and boxed. A fine, complete example. From the Carl Lobel Collection.
