Item Description
4.25" tall plaster figure on 2.25" dia. base. Buttocks have exaggerated size and are holed 20 times for insertion of toothpicks. Figure is nicely formed for viewing display from any angle. Unmarked c. 1940s. Comes w/original 2.25x4.25" tag that reads "'Porky' We Call Him 'Porky' Not Because (Although He Is!) A Beastly Swine: We Call Him 'Porky' Just Because He's 'Stuck Up' Like A Porcupine! Mfg. By Chick Powell Co., 836 S.W. 1st St., Miami, Fla." Tag is lightly worn but rarely found. Figure has 1/8x.5" flake on side of buttock, .25" sliver chip on shoe edge. Not visible when viewed straight on. From the Hake collection.
