Auction #197 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 991 in auction 197
Item Description
1.75" shows seated woman in reddish gown next to a small table holding a candlestick telephone with the receiver held to her ear and with one finger of her other hand raised as if telling someone she will just be a minute. Text reads "When In Doubt/Telephone And Find Out/Pioneer." We've seen only this one example and it differs slightly from the example pictured in Collectible Pin-Back Buttons. The book example has a lady with black hair and black telephone receiver at her ear whereas on this both the hair and receiver are brown and there are small differences in her dress. Trivial age on the W&H backpaper used only 1900-1912. Cello is Exc. and displays Mint. When we offered this button in 2001 it exceeded $300.
