Item Description
Each is 1.25". First is classic 1916 cartoon button showing giant Uncle Sam placing a battleship in the water as he leans on his rifle with an airplane next to him in the sky and his cartoon balloon "Let 'Em Come." Preparedness was a 1916 theme of the Woodrow Wilson campaign along with the slogan 'He Kept Us Out Of War.' Bottom edge has name of maker W.F. Miller. N. Mint and displays Mint. Next is photo button of General Pershing. Reverse has backpaper by Shapiro & Karr of Philadelphia. Next is real photo of "General Foch." No backpaper likely as issued. Last is "We Mourn Our Loss." From 1934 picturing Paul Von Hindenburg who was Germany's Chief of General Staff in 1916 and later in 1925 was elected as second President of Germany." No backpaper as issued. All are Exc. and display Mint.
