Item Description
1.25" complete with Phila. Badge backpaper. In reflected light, celluloid covering has some pinpoint rippling of the celluloid but this is practically microscopic in nature. Button is actually in superb condition and has probably the deepest red bkg. color of any of the few we've seen. Button is from 1932 and pictured is cast member Johnny Eck, the half-man from Baltimore who died in 1991 at age 79. A rare button from its very brief original release when it shocked movie-goers of the era and is credited with killing the career of director Tod Browning. Hake book Collectible Pin-Back Buttons photo example Movies section #835. Comes with Hake's COA. N. Mint and displays Mint.
