Auction #197 - Part II
Item numbers 992 through 2667 in auction 197
Item Description
7/8" dia. well-made brass badge with black enamel paint surrounding detailed image of him on Silver with text below. Bright luster is off the brass area but these metal surfaces are clean and glossy. Black enamel paint is near 100%. Reverse original bar pin has just a tiny bend on the pin shaft causing no problem. This is the third example we've seen of this rare badge which came from Trojan Publishing Corp., publishers of The Lone Ranger Magazine which was a pulp format publication published for only a few issues beginning April, 1937. The publishers created a club for readers which also promoted listening to The Lone Ranger radio program. Club members received a membership card along with this badge. Sales have exceeded $1,500 for this rare badge. This is the same example we offered in Auction #191 and we have lowered its opening bid.
