Item Description
This exceptional set was produced by Oneida Community Silversmiths, 1941. The original 10.5x15x3.5" deep wood harmony chest contains 54 pieces from set of Tudor plate's romantic new silverware pattern designed in honor of Walt Disney's masterpiece Fantasia. Pattern is called "Fantasy" and each piece has same floral design on the handles. Comes with 2 original advertising folders plus 2 photocopies of magazine ads showing a number of different configurations for this silverware set. What we have are 16 teaspoons, 8 knives, 8 forks, 8 soup spoons, 8 salad forks plus single pieces of butter knife, sugar spoon, large ladle, small ladle, meat fork, pierced round server. Interior of chest has red fabric lining and complete with pair of foil stickers marked "Tudor Plate/Anti-Tarnish Silverware Container." Some of the paperwork is worn so all just comes along but a great reference for this item. Outside of case has moderate scattered wear. Set shows scattered wear including some pieces with wear from use but all retains nice, bright luster. Overall entire set is Fine/VF. A little-known and rare Fantasia-related item, this is a unique opportunity to obtain an extensive group all at once.
