Item Description
12" long tin litho, Japan 1960s. Rear window shelf has tiny image of Astro Boy whose arm presents text "Trademark Tada Madira Japan Atom." Box has actions listed on lid and large illustrations on both sides of cap-loading methods. Box has overall moderate wear with color loss along edges, creases, paper loss areas on one end and small torn corner at one side. Despite defects, box still would display Fine and is quite graphic. Car itself has no exact model markings, however hood and trunk have Chevy-type emblems and car itself resembles mid-60s Chevrolet. Nicely detailed lithographed hubcaps and interior. Toy has the following actions: engine noise, blinking lights and a cap-firing gun which protrudes from the windshield and moves back and forth when firing. The elaborate cap-firing mechanism was never used and is revealed by lifting the trunk lid. Car has a few scratches including light 1" scratch along front of hood and a bit of discoloration across the entire front edge of hood. Not offensive. Overall this unused toy is in Exc. condition. A neat and impressive toy not pictured in the "Big Book Of Tin Toy Cars" (commercial and racing version).
