Item Description
8.5x11" sheet of paper issued on July 4, 1940, when the New York World's Fair held "Superman Day." This event included the crowning of a "Superboy" and "Supergirl" as well as a public appearance by Superman, played by actor Ray Middleton, the first time any actor played the role. Sheet includes nice image of Superman with hands on hips posed in front of the Fair's iconic Trylon & Perisphere. Sheets provided lines for child's name and age are blank, as are those for signatures of Fair's Director of Special Days and "Man of Tomorrow." We assume this area was meant to be signed by "Superman." Lightly aged, but unused and N. Mint.
