Item Description
Published by Central Publications Inc. Feb., 1958. Among the first and certainly the most famous of movie monster magazines, "Famous Monsters of Filmland" ran from 1958-1983. Cover features Frankenstein's Monster in a dapper suit w/"Ghoul Friend" Marion Moore. Frankenstein's Monster is portrayed by publisher James Warren. Magazine is edited by noted monster fan and afficionado, the late Forrest J. Ackerman. Magazine contains classic bw photos of monsters including Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, Metaluna Mutant, Creature From The Black Lagoon, King Kong, The Wolfman, Dracula as well as actors Bela Lugosi, Boris Karloff, Lon Chaney, Jr., Christopher Lee, Elsa Lanchester, Lon Chaney, Sr. Two-page Frankenstein parody by Bill Elder and Harvey Kurtzman. Lt. handling wear w/2" production crease on Frankenstein. Two .25" tears above bottom margin. Pages are lightly aged. Scattered age spotting. Fine overall.
