Item Description
4x9.5" mailing envelope comes w/pair of 8.5x10.75" letters. Envelope features red/blue full figure Captain Marvel image at left. Both letters have same Captain Marvel "Shazam" letterhead. Envelope has typed name/address and is aged but clean and VF. Letters have been folded as issued and show age. Apr.-May, 1945 letter has "Capt. Marvel's Approved Reading List" giving names of Fawcett comic book titles. This list differs slightly in content and print between the 2 letters. First letter mentions "Road To Final Victory Over The Nazis And Japs" and mentions the Seventh War Loan. Mentions upcoming issue of "Whiz Comics" and Mary Marvel appearance in "Wow Comics!" Fine/VF. Second letter mentions victory in Europe and the continued fight against Japan. Also notes due to paper shortage "Capt. Marvel Adventures" comic book would be printed bi-monthly instead of monthly. Lt. handling wear and aging. Fine/VF.
