Item Description
Lot of 3 digest-size pulps published by Street & Smith Publications Inc. Key issues include Dec., 1943 which is the first digest-sized format Shadow pulp. Front cover features advancing ghoul w/bloodied hands under moonlight and "Murder By Moonlight!" title. Scattered wear w/tears at bottom of spine, a few slivers missing, .25" sliver missing at top of spine. VG/Fine. Aug., 1944 issue has "Death In The Crystal" Shadow novel advertised on front cover w/large curved sword cleaving bkg. as small figures retreat in foreground. Also features the final appearance of The Avenger, carried over from his own cancelled title. Lightest trace of wear, aging to spine w/wear at top and bottom. Fine overall. Last issue is Aug./Sep., 1948 and this was the final digest-size format Shadow pulp and features cover by comic book artist Bob Powell. Scattered wear, mostly along spine w/.75" spine split at bottom front cover. VG/Fine. Scarce.
