Item Description
6.75" tall bisque figurine of Popeye. Arms are jointed at shoulders and movable. His one eye is a separate painted ceramic ball which, when he lays down, functions like sleep eyes of baby dolls. c. 1930s. Unmarked w/exception of "Foreign" incised on back of head. Original fabric outfit. Incised anchor tattoos on arms. Outfit shows heavy aging and is VG/Fine. Figure shows lt. traces of paint wear, VF. Largest and nicest Popeye bisque we know of. Rare.
