Item Description
9.25x12.25x2" deep box contains complete and unused kit by Stroward Inc. ©1952 The Chicago Tribune. Kit consists of GE ultraviolet bulb/extension cord, invisible ink and pen, magic cloth, 4 florescent dyes and mixing bowls, 3 paint brushes and piece of wood. Bulb has spiderweb crack w/.25" piece missing. Good. Dyes have the following names: Green Neptune, Yellow X, Mars Red, Outer Blue. With exception of Green Neptune, all contents have dried. Kit was for "Amateur Detective" to write secret letters, perform card tricks and other party games, mark clothing, money and other valuables w/invisible ink for identification. Neat kit. Contents (w/exception of bulb) are N. Mint old store stock. Comes w/original instruction pamphlet. Box lid has bw illustration of Dick Tracy and simulated page from "Crimestoppers Textbook" that reads "A Chemical Placed In The Ink Supply Of A Suspect Lead To The Arrest Of The Extortionist. The Ink Fluoresced The Same On Both The Letters And The 'Planted' Ink." Box has scattered paint rubs but remains structurally sound and VF+. Rare.
