14x16x4.5” deep box contains beautiful tin litho wind-up by Automatic Toy Co. c. 1950. Toy unfolds to 7” tall by 14” wide target area plus a 15.5” outward extension of bottom front which comes to a tapered end. Extension has tin gun on swivel turret. Gun is loaded by pulling shooting rod to rear allowing any of the included 6 metal bb’s to fall into the gun barrel. Gun is then fired by releasing spring plunger. Wind-up action drives a cable holding a sequence of die-cut tin miniature stagecoaches followed by 4 robbers on horseback. All fall backwards if struck. Targets have various point values. Foreground pictures Hoppy, Lucky, California. Only lightest trace of wear with some minor oxidation to wind-up key, still in place with original insert in box. Exc.
