Item Description
Lot of seven 4-5/8x5.5” hardcovers with dust jackets. Whitman W701 series from 1929. From a series of 10. Titles include – “A Frightened Baby, Milk And Honey, Cubby Finds An Open Door, Cubby Gets A Bath, What Farmer Brown’s Boy Did, Cubby And Mother Brown’s Pantry, Cubby Bear Has A Mind Of His Own.” Inside front covers of each has facsimile letter from Burgess. Interior text with color art by Nina Jordan. All come with original dust jackets which show lt. traces of wear, most VF overall. Book themselves are Exc.-N. Mint. Although not marked as such, these are from the Whitman Archives. Books are scarce with dust jackets and rare in this condition.
