Item Description
Complete set of 25 litho tin 13/16" buttons. These were sold in the 1930s with a piece of gum in a wax wrapper titled "Button Gum." Others in the series include baseball players, western frontiersmen and Indians. The inks on all of these were very susceptible to scratches and gathering dust. This set is exceptionally clean and the following few just have small paint flaws: Richard Arlen, tiny paint dot off nose; Joan Bennett, 5 small ink marks on her face; Ronald Colman, 2 white marks on his cheek; Jackie Cooper, two 1/16" paint rubs; Clark Gable, tiny black numeral on his forehead; Janet Gaynor, 2 small black lines on face and Will Rogers, small white mark at right. All defects are quite small and we emphasize overall that this is a much above average set. Majority are Exc. to Mint. Only the second full set we've been able to offer over the years.
