Item Description
This 2.25" tall N. Mint luster brass badge accented by trio of 4" fabric ribbons dates from 1912, only 15 years after the first event was held. Top has longhorn steer figural bar pin with loop suspending 5-pointed star showing cowboy on bucking horse. Text reads "Frontier Days Cheyenne, Wyo. Aug. 14-17, 1912." Couple tiny dots of tarnish on the lower star tip but luster is N. Mint. Ribbons have light soil but no spotting. They tend to curl up slightly but easily flatten out. About the earliest rodeo item we've seen. Rare.
