Item Description
Lot of 7, each is a 1 1/8th” litho by Green Duck. From the 1930s with 15 known in the set, several characters having multiple buttons featuring early and later depictions of that specific character. From Peoria, Illinois with text reading “Journal-Transcript Funnies Club/Tune In WMBD.” This lot includes both versions of Big Chief Wahoo, early version of Lil’ Abner, later version of Nancy (Nancy & Sluggo), Fritzi (Nancy’s aunt who had her own strip), Little Mary Mix-Up, Bronco Billy. The key button in this set, but not included in this lot, is Tarzan which easily sells in the $1,000+ range. All have tiny traces of wear including some pinpoint nicks. All remain bright and have high gloss finish. Overall choice condition for these litho buttons, Exc. Individual buttons are scarce, very rare to find this many at once.
