Complete set of sixty 5.25” tall plastic tumblers issued by 7-Eleven convenience stores in 1973. While 4 sets of these plastic cups were produced - 3 for Marvel Comics characters (see first Marvel set #2105) and only 1 set for DC Comics characters, this is by far the most desirable and difficult set to complete. The DC Comics cups were not as widely distributed and suffered a less than stellar promotion when compared to the Marvel sets. Images were licensed by DC, many dating to earlier times. Characters featured include – Aquaman, Batgirl, Batman, Catwoman, Flash, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Hawkman, Joker, Kid Flash, Lex Luthor, Metamorpho, Mary Marvel (labeled as “Ms. Shazam” due to Marvel Family licensing issues), Robin, Shazam (Captain Marvel), Tarzan, Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman’s butler Alfred, Commissioner Gordon, Batman’s secret identity Bruce Wayne, Robin’s secret identity Dick Grayson, Superman’s adoptive parents Jonathan and Martha Kent, Jane, Lex Luthor, Mr. Mxyzptlk, Mon-El, Elongated Man, Sgt. Rock, Speedy, Riddler, Wonder Girl, Aqualad, Dr. Fate, Heat Wave, Starman, Wildcat, Mirror Master, Perry White, Jimmy Olsen, The Atom, Supergirl, Penguin, Vigilante, Captain Boomerang, Shazam Jr. (Captain Marvel Jr.), Metamorpho, Superboy, Superman's birth parents Lara & Jor-El, Brainiac, Lana Lang, Captain Cold, Hourman, Lois Lane, as well as Legion characters Cosmic Boy, Lightning Lad, Saturn Girl, Brainiac 5 and Chameleon Boy.
