Item Description
10x10-1/8” thin cardboard sign for Pioneer Qualatex balloons manufactured by the Pioneer Rubber Co. c. late 1940s. Li’l Abner image at top and list of included characters as well as die-cut areas meant to be punched out to display balloon packages. Gummed 1.5x2” areas at bottom corners. Card remains unpunched. Lt. traces of aging/wear. VF. 10.25x18” die-cut store card/box topper has repeat illustrations of Li’l Abner as well as additional images of Kigmy being kicked and Shmoo on side panels holding 4 balloons each featuring images of Daisy Mae, Li’l Abner, The Shmoo, Hairless Joe, Mammy Yokum, Pappy Yokum, Lonesome Polecat and Salomey. Die-cut sign has been partially punched and shows scattered age spotting and handling wear. VF-. Sign has Al Capp’s facsimile signature as well as UFS copyright and Good Housekeeping stamp. Fine/VF.
