Item Description
Complete set of eight 11x14” lobby cards for the 1929 “talkie” starring William Boyd, later to become Hopalong Cassidy. Title card measures 10-7/8x14” but does not appear to be trimmed. Early Boyd film in which he plays a pilot checking up on his brother’s girlfriend, making sure she is the “real deal” only to fall in love with her himself. Boyd is pictured wearing aviator helmet and goggles on 3 cards, one of which shows him behind the controls of a bi-plane, machine guns at the ready. Boyd is pictured in all but one card. One card shows him in World War I military uniform. Light handling, mostly along corners. VF/Exc. overall. Lobby cards come with original 11.5x14.5” envelope with “Pathe Picture” name/logo as well as film title and Boyd’s name. Envelope shows obvious wear with several tears and is just Good. Also comes with 9.5x12.25” “Thematic Music Cue Sheet” of songs to be played in conjunction with film. Exc. Rare as a set with envelope and song sheet.
