Item Description
This toy has an interesting history. It was the first modern era (c. 1970-71) toy approved (after much resistance) by the Disney Studios to feature 1930s style graphics. In spite of initially hating the design, a year after this toy was reluctantly approved, it was proudly displayed in its own spot-lighted showcase in the Disney Merchandising office lobby in New York City. 9.5x16x1” deep box contains complete and unused set. Elaborate set includes die-cut stage and separate figures of Mickey and Minnie with controller attachments so they can be moved across the stage. Has 2 sheets of vinyl outfits and accessories with themes including cowboy, clown, fancy attire, Charlie Chaplin, Santa, etc. On sides of stage are images of The Three Little Pigs and The Goof playing instruments along with Pluto, Horace and Clarabelle as spectators. The bkg. board with additional stage designs includes images of costumed Donald Duck and Big Bad Wolf performing. Includes instruction folder. Plain white box bottom has aging, lid is N. Mint with Mint contents. Designed by Mel Birnkrant and a file copy from his personal archive. Comes with Hake’s COA.
