Item Description
Lot of five 10x13" issues. Vol. 11 #3, March 1939; Vol. 11 #4, April 1939; Vol. 12 #2, Aug. 1939; Vol. 12 #3, Sept. 1939; Vol. 13 #2, Feb. 1940. All have illustrations by famous pin-up artist Petty. Three feature Petty's trademark girl w/phone. Vol. 11 #3 features an Old Gold ad by Petty w/Ice Capades theme for which he would later become famous. 1" spine split at bottom left corner, .25" chip of spine at bottom is missing. Vol. 11 #4 features another Old Gold ad w/Petty protraying a classic image of sweater girl in a translucent raincoat and mini skirt. Vol. 12 #2 has a 1x5" moisture stain at right center margin and a 2" chip off of spine at bottom corner plus .5" chip at top. This issue features an unusual pin-up in that Petty portrays his pin-up girl diving into the water and from the waist down only. Magazines have lt. handling wear, aging and dust soiling. Overall Fine.
