Item Description
Toy has overall size of 5x11.5x3.75” tall and comes in original box with woodgrain design. “A Right-Time Toy” by Childhood Interests, Inc. c. 1955. Box features images of boy with this toy along with instructions. Box has moderate dust soiling as well as large moisture stain although really only visible on box interior. Two side edges have some surface paper wear, box remains tight. VG/Fine. Tom-tom comprised of thick cardboard with paper labels/wood, thin rubber covers and string accents. Complete with center attachment that has cord and can be used as either a hand grip or attaching around neck to keep both hands free. Comes with pair of wood beaters. Nicely illustrated with images of Davy Crockett and Chief Red Stick including action scenes. The metal rivets that hold the accent string have surface rust. Front of one unit has faint trace of moisture stain. Extreme edge of one rubber cover has 1.5” separation due to shrinkage over the years but both rubber covers remain firmly intact with no holes or punctures. Still displays VF. A rarely seen Davy item, the first we have offered in our 43 years.
