Item Description
AFTER COMPLETION OF THE CATALOG, ORIGINAL BOX WAS FOUND/ADDED BY CONSIGNOR-DESCRIPTION UPDATED-PHOTO ADDED.
Pair. First is 5” tall, all celluloid depicting seal balancing ball on nose. 1940s Occupied Japan by Alps. Nicely illustrated box with different seal images on all sides. Moderate wear to box with some creases. Fine. Works and travels around as ball rotates. Exc. Second is 7.5” tall by TPS with built-in key. c. 1960. Tin litho depicting monkey on back of seal holding fishing pole with fish on the end. Seal wears felt outfit which is variety in blue rather than red. Toy works and seal moves as if trying to catch the fish. Felt has moderate aging. Toy has scattered wear including paint nicks. Fine.
