Auction #199 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 972 in auction 199
Item Description
2.5” with metal back and bar pin. Exc. color Santa image is on 1.25” dia. paper, probably intended to produce 1.25” button but in this case it is under the sheet of celluloid against a deep green bkg. color. Top edge has pair of .25” hairline cello cracks but showing very little and rest of the piece displays essentially Mint. The largest Santa button from the 1930s era we have seen and the only example. Likely made by button company employee for personal use or as a salesman’s sample.
